This excursion is a perfect outdoor activity for a day trip outside Nairobi to mount Longonot, one of Kenya’s most popular hiking destinations. The journey provides you with scenic views of the great rift valley towards Mt Longonot. There is the possibility of sighting wild animals - small mammals and birds which makes it more than just hiking. The mountain is covered by lava canyons for about a kilometer of its steep slopes making walking around its Caldera simply amazing. A hike through Mount Longonot takes about half a day and it's even better with the help of walking sticks through the steep slopes.

You will depart Nairobi heading towards Mount Longonot with a stopover at the Great rift valley to view Loita plains and Lake Naivasha from a distance. This particular hike can be a preparation for you to hike even more difficult mountains like Mount Kenya. Upon arrival at Mount Longonot Park gate, there shall be a quick briefing before beginning of the hike. After briefing the hike will commence and probably end 1t 1230hrs. You will have lunch on yur way back to Nairobi in Naivasha.
